Introduction
Through our Degree in Biomedical Laboratory Science and its application to health care, you will acquire sold knowledge in a wide range of social, exact, biological and medical sciences. These will act as a base for acquiring know-how that will allow you to understand the multidisciplinary importance of the laboratory in areas such as screening, diagnostics and monitoring specific disease conditions; pathophysiology and disease epidemiology; selecting the appropriate statistical techniques that will allow you to have a valid interpretation of the test results, conducting research projects applied to health and forensic science; develop new disease diagnostic and prevention methods; knowledge of the code of good laboratory practice, including aspects relating to health, safety, ethics and legal affairs. With this Undergraduate Degree in Biomedical Laboratory Science you will have the necessary training to practice in the field of Medical Tests and Public Health and Pathologic, Cytologic, and Thanatological Anatomy. We therefore expect that the qualifications acquired in the referred to areas will make it easier for future professionals to have access to a broader range of jobs, whether at national or international level.

Career Prospects and others
Once you complete your course you will be able to:
Obtain the recognition of the professional title, given by the competent services of the Health Ministry through the issuance of a professional certificate;
Work as Clinical Analysis and Public Health Technician and Pathological, Thanatological and Cytological Anatomy Technician, under the terms of Dispatch no. 9409/2014 of July 10, 2014.
Work in public and private hospitals; clinical analysis laboratories of the national health service; laboratories of pathological and cytological anatomy; public health laboratories; food and chemical industry; histocompatibility, hemotherapy and genetics laboratories; legal medicine institutes; forensic tanatology laboratories; research laboratories and veterinary medicine labs.
Work as a researcher and/or teaching
Continue your studies and obtain specialization in Molecular Biology, Forensic Microbiology and Toxicology, among other areas.
