ORSIES
ORSIES - Observatório da Responsabilidade Social e Instituições de Ensino Superior (Observatory for Social Responsibility and Higher Education Institutions) is a collaborative network that comprises 30 Higher Education Institutions, out of which Egas Moniz is one of its founding members, within a joint initiative between the Student Forum and the Secretary of State for Science, Technology, and Higher Education.
The general goals of ORSIES are as follows:
- To promote interaction between Higher Education/ Businesses and Corporate Associations/ Public Institutions in order to follow the development dynamics of social responsibility actions at Higher Education Institutions;
- To strengthen the awareness and civil action of the educational community in Higher Education Institutions;
- To develop common social responsibility actions, which are shared and have a great social impact in Higher Education Institutions;
- To share methodologies, instruments, experience, and good practices;
- To develop social responsibility research/action initiatives that add value through knowledge;
- To implement national and international benchmarking and diagnostics allowing for the creation and development of new social responsibility strategies;
- To mobilise other community stakeholders within a national and local scope to cooperate with Higher Education Institutions in regard to social responsibility.
Egas Moniz has been actively involved in the activities carried out by ORSIES, namely in its publications, having contributed based on our experience and social responsibility actions carried out by our Institution.
The concerned publications are:
- Green Paper on Social Responsibility and Higher Education Institutions;
- Report on Social Responsibility Actions during COVID-19;
- Book on Social Responsibility Indicators in Higher Education Institutions.
